Louisiana

Located on the Gulf of Mexico, Louisiana has a humid, subtropical climate, with plenty of sunshine. Winters are generally mild, although freezing rain and ice storms can occur. During summer and fall, thunderstorms, tropical storms, hurricanes and flooding are a frequent threat, especially along the coast. Louisianans should also be prepared for occasional tornadoes.
