Maine

Maine enjoys comfortable summer temperatures and milder winter temperatures than its inland neighbors. But it still sees its share of severe weather. Summer brings occasional thunderstorms and even the threat of tornadoes and hurricanes. Winter brings heavy snow to the interior regions, and residents throughout the state should prepare for blizzards and ice storms. Inland and coastal flooding is a threat, due to heavy rain, snowmelts and ice jams.
