Maryland

This Mid-Atlantic state may be small, but it has a range of geographical features and climate zones to match. Much of the weather is influenced by the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay, the largest freshwater estuary in the world. Winters are mild, but summers are hot and humid, with frequent thunderstorms. Heavy rain, tropical storms, and hurricanes are a threat and can cause dangerous flooding. Tornadoes (an average of 6 a year) hit Maryland as well.
