District of Columbia

The nation's capital, like much of the Mid-Atlantic, enjoys mild weather compared to many states in the U.S. The seasons are distinct and the worst of it - humidity in summer and cold temperatures in winter - are usually very short in duration. Washington, D.C. is also prone to frequent thunderstorms during the summer months, and experiences occasional winter storms, hurricanes, and tornadoes.
